My Paint
Sculptures are a growing expression of my fascination with contemporary art
techniques that I’ve fused with an evolving exploration of the 19th
Century.
Where the beginnings of modern science and of women
initially being accepted into parts of society once reserved only for men.
It was at this time a unique
artistic cultural exchange began when French impressionist found inspiration in
the newly imported and boldly colored Japanese art prints, and revolutionized
the art world with their investigation into the phenomenon of natural light.
Comparably, Japanese artists would incorporate European draftsmanship and
painting techniques to further refine their art and influence the world in
everything from fashion to architecture. One culture asks us to see what we’re
viewing, the other to contemplate what we’re viewing, and both asking us most
of all to enjoy the experience.
It has taken something from
my extensive art background in illustration, animation, and fine art to create
this unique style titled Paint Sculpture.
